Ethiopia is thought to be the birthplace of coffee. The origin legend behind coffee tells a story of goat herders noticing a strange effect that the bright red berries produced in their goats when ingested. It is thought that the first use of the coffee bean was as an ingredient in an early form of an energy bar and was chewed to release that sweet, sweet caffeine. It would take a couple of hundred years before coffee would eventually be roasted and enjoyed as the beverage we know today. This coffee comes from those earliest coffee varieties in the heart of one of the premier growing regions in arguably the best coffee-growing country on earth.
